Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of open communication, empathetic leadership, and cross-training among Generation Y employees on the performance of private organizations. The study used a quantitative approach with an associative design. The sample consisted of 100 Generation Y employees working in private organizations and was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that cross-training among Generation Y employees had a positive and significant effect on organizational performance, while open communication and empathetic leadership did not have a significant effect partially. However, all three variables simultaneously had a significant effect on organizational performance with a contribution of 50.2%. This finding indicates that improving the performance of private organizations is largely determined by the effectiveness of training programs that are able to develop competencies and collaboration among Generation Y employees. Therefore, organizations need to strengthen training programs that are appropriate to the characteristics of this generation and integrate communication and leadership practices that support sustainable performance development.
