Analisis Framing dalam Komunikasi Dakwah Felix Siauw pada Video Reconnect With Al Qur’an Eps 7-8 di Youtube YNTV

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the framing of Israel—or the Children of Israel (Bani Israil)—in Felix Siauw’s da'wah (Islamic outreach) communication, as well as the communication strategies employed in episodes 7 and 8 of the "Reconnect With Qur'an" series on the YNTV YouTube channel. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis method, which encompasses four elements: defining problems, diagnosing causes, making moral judgments, and recommending solutions. Primary data consists of the da'wah videos, while secondary data was gathered from relevant books, journals, and prior studies. The analysis involved transcribing and identifying narratives concerning the Children of Israel, categorizing them according to the four framing elements, and interpreting the constructed problem, causes, moral assessment, and recommended resolution. The findings reveal that Felix Siauw frames the Children of Israel as a people who deviated from the right path due to disobedience toward God’s commands, arrogance, the misuse of intellect, and the rejection of divine revelation. Moral judgments regarding these behaviors are reinforced through Quranic narratives, while the audience is encouraged to derive lessons (ibrah) and adopt the Qur'an as a guide for life. His da'wah strategies include Quranic storytelling, the use of scriptural evidence, persuasive language, a firm tone of voice, and supporting visual and audio elements
