Abstract
Limited availability of high-quality forage during the dry season is a major challenge for small-scale goat farming in Wonorejo Village, Trenggalek, despite the area's abundant post-harvest corn residue biomass. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of extension activities in enhancing the knowledge and skills of farmers in the Toto Raharjo Farmer Group regarding the application of fermented feed technology. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing extension methods such as lectures, practical demonstrations, and the distribution of structured brochures. Data were collected via pre-tests, post-tests, and observation sheets involving 30 purposively selected respondents, and subsequently analyzed using interval techniques. Evaluation results revealed an increase in farmers' knowledge, with the average score rising from 47.06 (fair category) in the pre-test to 88.93 (good category) in the post-test. Practical skills also improved, with the average score increasing from 40.00 (fair category) to 100.00 (good category) following the participatory demonstration. These findings indicate that a combination of interactive lectures and practical demonstrations is effective in enhancing farmers' knowledge and skills in applying fermented feed technology based on corn residue. Thus, extension activities represent a relevant approach to supporting the utilization of agricultural waste as alternative feed during the dry season
