Strategi Kepala Sekolah dalam Menanggulangi Kenakalan Remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Uluidanotae

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is an issue that can disrupt the learning process and the character development of students. This study aims to analyze the principal's strategies for addressing juvenile delinquency and to identify the challenges faced at SMA Negeri 1 Uluidanotae. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, homeroom teachers, guidance and counseling (BK) teachers, and students. The data were analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was verified through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the principal's strategies include the consistent enforcement of school rules through educational and graduated sanctions, character building via religious activities and flag-raising ceremonies, strengthened coordination among the principal, homeroom teachers, and guidance counselors, and improved communication with parents. Challenges faced include a lack of awareness regarding discipline among some students, the influence of peers and negative social environments, and suboptimal parental involvement. These findings demonstrate that addressing juvenile delinquency requires consistent and collaborative strategies involving the school, the family, and the students' social environment
