Abstract
The low mastery of basic volleyball techniques among elementary school students indicates that the Physical Education and Health learning process still requires strategies that can increase students' active involvement during learning. One approach that is considered appropriate is the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning method, which emphasizes cooperation between students in understanding the material and mastering skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STAD cooperative learning method on the learning outcomes of Physical Education and Health volleyball material for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 03 Kebocoran. The study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 28 students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Paired Sample t-tests. The results showed that the application of the STAD method improved students' learning outcomes after participating in the learning. This improvement was not only reflected in the mastery of basic volleyball techniques, but also in students' involvement during the learning process and the development of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects. These findings indicate that the STAD type cooperative learning method can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of PJOK learning, especially in volleyball material in elementary schools.
