Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem, affecting approximately one-third of the world's population. It is one of the eight leading infectious diseases and continues to be among the leading causes of death from communicable diseases worldwide. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the tuberculosis program coverage on infectious disease control at the Kerinci District Health Office. This quantitative study employed an evaluative research design using a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted at the Kerinci District Health Office, located in Sungai Pegeh, Siulak District, Kerinci Regency, Jambi, Indonesia, in September 2025. The study population consisted of all tuberculosis patients residing within the working area of the Kerinci District Health Office, totaling 250 individuals. A total sampling (census) technique was applied, resulting in a sample size of 250 respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and observation sheets. The research instruments included a questionnaire assessing tuberculosis program coverage and another questionnaire evaluating infectious disease control. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate statistical analyses with computer-assisted software. The findings demonstrated a statistically significant association between tuberculosis program coverage and infectious disease control (p = 0.001; p < 0.05). These results indicate that improved tuberculosis program coverage contributes significantly to strengthening infectious disease control efforts within the study area.
