Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial knowledge and the social environment on the entrepreneurial interest of Generation Z in Sungai Bahar District and examine the role of motivation as a mediating variable in this relationship. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that measured the variables of entrepreneurial knowledge, social environment, motivation, and entrepreneurial interest. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) to test the direct and indirect effects between variables. The results showed that entrepreneurial knowledge and the social environment had a positive and significant effect on motivation. Motivation also had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial interest. In addition, motivation was proven to mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial knowledge and the social environment with entrepreneurial interest. These findings indicate that increasing entrepreneurial knowledge and the support of a conducive social environment can strengthen individual motivation to become an entrepreneur, which ultimately increases the entrepreneurial interest of Generation Z. This study has implications for educational institutions and stakeholders in designing entrepreneurship development programs oriented towards strengthening motivation and social environmental support.
