Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited use of digital teaching materials in teaching explanatory texts in grade IX of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai. Learning is still dominated by the use of printed books, resulting in less interactive presentation of materials and inability to facilitate students' independent learning. This condition indicates the need to develop digital teaching materials that are more interesting, easily accessible, and support active student involvement in the learning process. This study aims to develop a Flipbook-based e-module and determine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The research subjects were 31 grade IX-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests, then analyzed descriptively quantitatively using percentages. The results showed that the Flipbook-based e-module experienced an increase in validation results from material experts (66% to 98%), language experts (92% to 100%), and design/media experts (66% to 91%). The practicality level reached 78% in the small group trial and increased to 95% in the large group trial, while the effectiveness level increased from 73% to 86%. Based on these results, the Flipbook-based e-module was declared highly valid, very practical, and very effective for use in teaching explanatory texts in grade IX of SMP Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai
