Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of learning motivation and interest as psychological factors influencing student learning outcomes. The study employed a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data sources were obtained from various books, scientific articles, and national and international journals published in the last ten years and relevant to the topics of learning motivation, learning interest, and student learning outcomes. Literature selection was based on the criteria of theme relevance, source credibility, and relevance to the research objectives. Data were collected through documentation techniques, then analyzed using content analysis, which included the stages of identification, grouping, interpretation, and synthesis of findings from various sources. The results of the study indicate that learning motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, acts as a driving force that directs and sustains student learning activities. Meanwhile, learning interest increases student engagement, concentration, and understanding of learning materials. Students with high learning motivation and interest tend to be more active, diligent, and demonstrate better learning outcomes. The research findings confirm that learning motivation and interest are complementary psychological factors that contribute significantly to improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, both aspects require attention in learning planning and implementation.
