Abstract
The development of digital media has a significant influence on the character and moral formation of elementary school students, so that the active role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is needed in carrying out moral development in the school environment. This study aims to analyze the role of PAI teachers, the strategies used, and the challenges faced in developing the morals of fifth-grade students at Kalijirek Public Elementary School, Kebumen amidst the influence of digital media. The study used a qualitative approach with a field research type. The research subjects consisted of PAI teachers and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The results show that PAI teachers play a role as educators, motivators, role models, counselors, and facilitators in developing students' morals. The strategies implemented include instilling religious values, habituating a responsible attitude, optimizing school habituation programs, collaborating with parents, and collaborating with TPQ institutions. The challenges faced include differences in student character, family environment, and limited supervision of digital media use. Research findings show that collaboration between schools, families, and the environment is an important factor in supporting the success of developing students' morals in the digital era
