Aktivasi Keterampilan Menulis Siswa Melalui Metode TOP (Three Objects and Presentation) pada Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

Abstract

Writing skills are essential in Indonesian language learning because they enable students to organize ideas, thoughts, and experiences into written communication. In practice, many elementary students still experience difficulties in finding ideas, determining topics, and developing coherent paragraphs. This study aimed to improve fifth-grade students' writing skills through the TOP (Three Objects and Presentation) method. The research used classroom action research based on the Kemmis and McTaggart cycle, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 30 fifth-grade students of MI YPPI 1945 Babat, Lamongan, in the first semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Data were collected through observation sheets, knowledge tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that students' writing activity increased from 66% in cycle I to 74.2% in cycle II and 79% in cycle III. Students' knowledge test scores also increased from 64 to 70.67 and 76. These findings indicate that the TOP method can stimulate ideas, improve writing organization, and strengthen students' confidence in presenting their written work.
